I have had 3 ebikes the ones that look like a scooter.
I am happy with the one I have now it has every thing I could want in a ebike. (nice ride)
It is about time that the Ontario Goverment informs all dealers in Ontario what way they are going to go on this test pilot. Dealers arn't ordering bikes some shops arnt stocking bikes. people are asking question and no one can give a stright answer because there is no feed back from Queens Park.
If these ebike dont get passed I would really think about moving to BC or Montreal.

I have an e-bike and use it on the nice days instead of my truck. Great for going to the mall or the corner store. I have put on about 4500 km in the year that I have owned it with no problems. Mine is the kind that looks like a Vespa. I had the other kind and ended up selling it when I found these. Only goes around 30 km per hour but where I go it is the difference between a 5 minute ride or a 8 minute ride,

British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Manitoba, Quebec and Saskatchewan ,have all safely integrated e-bikes into their transportation mix. The Ontario Government decides to make it a "pilot program" Why is Ontario taking this negative approach to an electric bike that travels no faster than my son's pedal bike. Ontario has changed over the years. They should have embraced this prodcut from the start and showed the world who we are. Instead...we must take the "wait and see" approach....Shame on Ontario. Laggers Not Leaders

E-Bikes are a fantastic alternative form of transportation for short commutes. Regarding the amount of energy consumption question that Bob Oliver raised, the energy consumption is extremely low and costs approximately 10 Cents to charge ones e-bike. The Majority of people are also charging their e-bikes overnight. I am actually surprised that Bob from Pollution Probe of all people would even question e-bikes or e-cars. We can only work with the technology we have available. What do YOU drive BoB?

I don't like road tolls. It reminds of ancient time when each kingdom had their road tolls. The 407 Hwy. has demonstrated how easy it is to gouge people. Paying road tolls would not mean the money goes towards public transit. Even the money collected for OHIP does not necessarily go towards health care. All taxes and fees collected by the government enters into a general fund.

Taxpayers in Canada already pay over 50% of their income towards taxes. That seems like more than enough to me.

Don't forget we are in this mess because government approved all the new subdivisions. Then they noticed afterward that there are not enough roads, transit, schools and police. Instead of making the taxpayer support the politicians perhaps they should be paying for all their blunders.

Kennedy didn't really criticize the NDP cap and trade plan probably because the format didn't give him enough time to. I think he felt that painting the NDP plan as something that would hurt the economy would be the most effective criticism given the time constraints.
